The view of wa\u1e25dat al-wuj\u016bd, which can be expressed as “knowing existence as one; realizing that there is no existence other than Allah and His manifestations”, was first systematically formulated by Mu\u1e25yidd\u012bn Ibn al-\u02bfArab\u012b. Wa\u1e25dat al-shuh\u016bd, especially emphasized by Im\u0101m Rabb\u0101n\u012b, is defined as “a spiritual state in which everything is perceived as Allah and His manifestations, and at a certain point, nothing else can be seen.” After passing through this phase, the Sufi begins to see God and creation as distinct beings.[\/vc_column_text]

Wa\u1e25dat al-Wuj\u016bd<\/h2>\n The concept of wa\u1e25dat al-wuj\u016bd in Sufism was comprehensively established in the first half of the 7th (13th) century by Mu\u1e25yidd\u012bn Ibn al-\u02bfArab\u012b. His influence has continued uninterruptedly to this day. The view, which was embraced by earlier Sufis, including Im\u0101m al-Ghaz\u0101l\u012b, was systematized by Ibn al-\u02bfArab\u012b\u2019s students and followers and passed down to later generations, especially through works like *Fu\u1e63\u016b\u1e63 al-\u1e24ikam*. Due to his title \u201cal-Shaykh al-Akbar\u201d, the school formed around his ideas was named \u201cAkbariyya\u201d. Examples<\/h2>\n The principle of wa\u1e25dat al-wuj\u016bd is often summarized as: 'There is only one true existence, and that is Allah.' Therefore, the relationship between the Creator and the creation must be accurately positioned. Sufis provide various analogies for this. One of them is the 'Sun and its rays'. In this analogy, the Sun is the sole existence, and the rays, which vanish when clouds intervene, are contingent, thus considered non-existent on their own. Another analogy is the 'seed and tree'. All the branches, leaves, and fruits come from a single origin\u2014the seed. The tree\u2019s being depends entirely on the seed and cannot exist without it. The diversity and multiplicity we observe in the world are temporary and ultimately trace back to a singular essence.<\/span>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Illumination (Ishr\u0101q)<\/h2>\n The concept of 'ishr\u0101q', referring to enlightenment through intuitive knowledge (kashf), was elaborated in the work *\u1e24ikmat al-Ishr\u0101q* by Shih\u0101b al-D\u012bn Suhraward\u012b al-Maqt\u016bl (d. 587\/1191). He was reportedly inspired by Im\u0101m al-Ghaz\u0101l\u012b, who, interpreting the verse 'Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth' (al-N\u016br 24:35) along with prophetic traditions and earlier Sufi statements, built a metaphysical system based on the notion of divine light. His book *Mishk\u0101t al-Anw\u0101r* further explains this. According to him, Allah is the supreme and ultimate light, and all spiritual, material, and physical beings are reflections of that light. Many leading scholars and Sufis embraced this understanding. Ibn al-\u02bfArab\u012b\u2019s worldview heavily incorporates Illuminationist philosophy.<\/span>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Mu\u1e25ammadan Reality (\u1e24aq\u012bqat al-Mu\u1e25ammadiyya)<\/h2>\n Apart from his physical life of sixty-three years, the Prophet Mu\u1e25ammad (peace be upon him) is believed to possess an eternal spiritual existence. When nothing else existed, the first manifestation of divine love was the \u1e24aq\u012bqat al-Mu\u1e25ammadiyya. All creation originated from this reality and for its sake. It is the cause, substance, and purpose of the universe. This concept was first articulated by Sahl al-Tustar\u012b (d. 283\/896). Ibn al-\u02bfArab\u012b describes this reality as the first and most perfect manifestation of the Absolute Being (al-Wuj\u016bd al-Mu\u1e6dlaq). Since the Prophet\u2019s soul and light existed before all human beings, prophets, and even angels, he is considered the spiritual father of humanity and all souls.<\/span>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n
